HobbyGM vs Market Movers

Market Movers shows what cards sold for and which way prices are moving. The public HobbyGM 30 index tracks auction prices for 30 of the most-traded graded cards, reselected monthly. HobbyGM's app works on your eBay store, keeping each listing findable and priced in line with the same card listed by other sellers.

Where Market Movers is better

  • Sold comps, price charts and alerts for any card you look up. HobbyGM's market pages only track its own index cards.
  • Finding cards to buy below recent comps.

Where HobbyGM is better

  • Bulk fixes to your own eBay listings: missing item specifics, and titles that leave out the parallel, grade or print run.
  • Margin on each listing after eBay fees and shipping, and eBay traffic per listing, so you can see which cards get seen and not clicked.

Market Movers pricing

  • Starter: $9.99/month, 25-card collection, 5 alerts
  • Premium: $24.99/month, 250 cards, 20 alerts
  • Unlimited: $49.99/month, unlimited cards and alerts

The page says paying yearly saves 17% and mentions a free trial without giving its length.

What Market Movers does

  • Comps and price charts, found by search or by scanning a card. (source)
  • Deals listed below recent comps, and price alerts. (source)

What HobbyGM does

  • Checks every listing in your store each night: titles, item specifics, and cards with no watchers three weeks after listing. (how the checks work)
  • Fills missing item specifics from the title and adds missing search terms (parallel, print run, grade, team) to titles, in bulk, with review before anything is pushed to eBay.
  • Flags listings whose title and item specifics disagree: card number, season, print run, autograph, rookie, grade.
  • Compares each card's price with other sellers' current listings of the same card, matched on number, parallel, grade and print run.
  • Sends offers to watchers in bulk, or automatically each night by your rules, never below break-even.
  • Shows each listing's net margin after eBay fees, shipping and supplies, and flags cards that lose money or would ship cheaper by Standard Envelope. (fee calculator)
  • Reads per-listing traffic from eBay, so you can see which cards get seen and not clicked.
  • Covers sports cards, Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Lorcana and non-sport cards.

HobbyGM doesn't scan or identify cards, create new listings, list on other marketplaces, or look up sold prices for your cards. It works on the eBay listings you already have, however you made them.
